What Is a Vastra Maala?
A Vastra Maala is White Flowerr's ceremonial garland: handcrafted in Tiruppur from heritage Indian muslin, draped on stage in a moment of honour, and unfolded afterward into cotton muslin towels for everyday use. One gift. Two lives.
It is rolled and finished entirely by hand — each length of muslin wound into rosettes, strung and knotted the way a garland is, then finished with the details of the occasion: colour, trim, sometimes a monogram. On stage, it is worn exactly as a felicitation garland is worn. At home, it comes undone into a set of full-size cotton muslin towels.
The idea is simple: a felicitation is a single moment, but the object that marks it doesn't have to be. Most garlands are set aside once the ceremony ends. A Vastra Maala keeps working — folded into a cupboard, used at the sink, carried on a trip — long after the stage lights are off.
Each Vastra Maala is made to order, in a colour and finish chosen for the occasion — a felicitation, a wedding, a corporate milestone, a homecoming. It is built for hosts, event committees and families who want the gesture of honour to mean something after the applause.
